Designers Showcase - The Avondale and Mandarin Models At Citigate by Julian LeCraw
The Models: “OMG” is the typical reaction to the striking, ultra-modern, “luxe to the max” interiors of the two designer-outfitted model homes at Citigate, the new Southside community that is re-defining urban living with bold, sensual environments and fresh amenities. Barrett believes that spaces should evoke emotions and a sense of curiosity, so she uses the psychology of interiors and color theory to fashion environments that resonate emotionally. Rather than apartment-blah oak or Formica cabinets, the kitchens & baths in Citigate’s Avondale and Mandarin feature Modern Shaker style Espresso-finished wood cabinets set off by the sheen of a Kenmore stainless steel appliance package (including built-in microwave, ceramic–top electric range, dishwasher, refrigerator with ice & water dispensers) and polished chrome and brushed nickel fixtures. This subtle play of dark and light gives each home a chic spa-like serenity that is further enhanced by 2-step crown molding in both the dining & living spaces, 12 by 12 Ceramic tile floors in kitchen, baths and foyers and ceramic tile shower surrounds. Details definitely matter at Citigate, and none have been overlooked. Both the one and two bedroom floorplans feature a full size washer & dryer and cyber-desks, 2" wood grain blinds throughout, large walk-in closets and ceiling fans in living rooms and private terrace or balcony.
The Community: No other new community in Jacksonville offers the kind of innovative amenities that make Citigate the ultimate in contemporary, wired urban living. All day coffee service.
